White flaky patches on facial skin during winter in Kurdistan — eczema or seborrheic dermatitis?

Every winter, I get red, flaking patches around the sides of my nose and eyebrows. Moisturizers don’t seem to solve it completely.

Based on the location (nasolabial folds and eyebrows), this is classic Seborrheic Dermatitis, which is triggered by an overgrowth of Malassezia yeast and cold dry weather rather than simple dry skin. Recommended steps: 1. Use a gentle cleanser with Ketoconazole 2% or Zinc Pyrithione twice weekly on the affected areas. 2. Avoid thick oil-based heavy face creams as they feed the yeast; use lightweight ceramide and hyaluronic acid gel creams. 3. Keep showers lukewarm — hot water worsens the skin barrier inflammation. If redness persists, consult a dermatologist for a mild short-course non-steroidal anti-inflammatory cream.
